| Let
VASER® LIPOSCULTURE or SMARTLIPO dissolve your liposuction fears Liposuction
is the number one cosmetic procedure performed in the U.S.A. for both men and
women. For men it's "love handles," women it's "saddlebags" and the "tummy pooch."
Both would love their neck and chins touched up! For the past 25 years dermatologic
surgeons have been pioneers in the advancement of micro-cannular tumescent liposuction,
otherwise known as liposuction under local anesthesia. Accepted as a much gentler,
safer, and refined technique, microcannular liposuction has become a standard
of care amongst minimally-invasive cosmetic surgeons. Finally
there are advanced technologies called VASER® Liposelection and
SmartLipo that dissolve fat cells upon contact with ultrasonic or laser energy
delivered through a small sterile probe, advancing the tumescent microcannular
technique to the next generation of precision and ease for both the patient and
surgeon. With only local anesthetic and mild sedation, the fat is melted then
gently massaged and suctioned out with tiny cannulas. No more visions of the jabbing,
jarring and bruising of patients associated with traditional liposuction. A Friday
procedure will have you back to work and play by Monday. For now, Dr. Steinberg's
use and preference between the technologies is the VASER® procedure.
SmartLipo laser lipolysis at this time is only appropriate for very small pockets
of fat. What
Happens During VASER® Body Sculpting? During the procedure the area
to be sculpted is filled with a special saline solution that helps numb the site
and shrinks blood vessels. This solution makes the area very wet and full, making
the fat cells easier to liquefy with the VASER® System's sound
energy. After liquefication, the fat is removed and a pressure garment is placed
for 1-3 days to tighten the skin and avoid any bruising. Small incisions heal
quickly and easily. How
Does The VASER® System Work? The VASER® System
generates sound energy similar to that used for cataract removal in the eye. Small
probes transmit the sound energy to dissolve fat cells on contact. Gentle suction
and massage of the sculpted site removes the dissolved fat cells quickly and easily.
What Areas Of
My Body Can Be Sculpted? VASER® Body Sculpting can
be done effectively on the abdomen, "love handles", backs, thighs, hips, knees,
arms, neck and chin. Is
VASER® Body Sculpting Right For Me? If you are healthy and looking
for a fast, low-pain solution to your excess fatty tissue, you may be a good candidate
for VASER® Body Sculpting. Although there are limits to the amount
of tissue that can be removed, Dr Steinberg can assist you with your decision
about potential areas for sculpting, the results you can expect, and the recovery
process. How
Does VASER® Body Sculpting Work? VASER® is a much
gentler way of separating fatty tissues prior to removal, it differentiates between
fatty tissue and other tissue such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissues
that must be left undisturbed for good results. VASER® sound
energy simply bounces off other types of tissues while dissolving the less structured
fat cells. This makes VASER® Body Sculpting safer and results
in less swelling and a shorter and more comfortable recovery. Where
Does The Doctor Perform My VASER® Body Sculpting? Procedures are
performed in a sterile environment in our AAAHC accredited Office Based Surgery
Center making the procedure safe, convenient and often less costly due to the
absence of hospital care and a staff anestheseologist. A
FREE consultation with Dr Steinberg will help determine if this procedure is right
for you. Financing available.

| Fraxel
Laser Skin Resurfacing Fraxel
is the most advanced laser treatment for skin available anywhere - if your skin
is damaged from the sun or you have uneven pigmentation and fine lines, this is
a groundbreaking new treatment designed especially for you. You
can tell the difference immediately after your first Fraxel treatment that your
skin is softer and smoother. Lines and age spots fade and eventually disappear.
Fraxel is unique
because of how the treatment actually does what it does. The laser produces thousands
of tiny localized treatments known as MicroThermal Zones. These zones are what
define an area that will undergo alteration and an area that will remain untouched.
During the process, collagen and elastin are regenerated and about 20% of the
skin is resurfaced with each session. What
makes Fraxel special is its ability to bypass healthy, living skin cells and touch
only those cells that require re-growth. This level of precision makes the procedure
safe, reliable and worth the big bucks it's going cost. The "fractional" treatment
area is what makes the healing process work so quickly. Instead of the body facing
a large portion of skin to re-grow, it can focus on smaller areas. The
effectiveness of Fraxel is unparalleled when compared to other laser treatments
previously available. The laser works by targeting tiny, microscopic sites of
thermal impact separated by areas of unaffected, healthy tissue. The healthy tissue
in turn promotes rapid healing of the outer layers of skin. The collagen is also
stimulated and increases tone and firmness. Side
effects of treatment by Fraxel laser are minimal and do not require any downtime.
Some patients experience slight swelling and redness, but this should fade in
a day or two. Treatment is not painful and feels like a prickly sensation. A mild
anesthetic lotion maybe applied to reduce discomfort. In
July, 2005 the Fraxel laser was FDA approved for a condition called Melasma, a
condition which occurs on the sun exposed face and nose of affected patients,
typically women of child-bearing age.

(Printed in South Florida's
Sun Sentinel, Monday, May 10, 2004)
In the past decade,
there have been many new and exciting "lunch-time" procedures to treat aging and
sun-damaged skin. These include Botox for frown, forehead and crows lines; Restylane
and Collagen to fill deep lines and depressions; Photo-rejuvenation for pigment
and blood vessels and now tissue tightening! According to Board Certified
Dermatologist, Dr. Janee Steinberg, a single treatment with a new nonablative
radio frequency device (ThermaCool TC System, Thermage Inc.) results in safe,
mild to moderate tissue tightening of the neck, jowl and cheek areas, as well
as the forehead and crow's feet areas. The current experience with this
procedure indicates this is not a replacement for surgery. Steinberg says the
best candidates have loose skin that you can pick up with your fingertips. The
real benefit is around the mouth - the nasolabial fold and marionette lines and
the neck. Compared to a face-lift, there is no down time and the cost is much
less. It appears to be a satisfactory alternative for patients with early, mild
laxity, and those with more advanced changes who prefer not to have traditional
surgery - and are willing to accept the more limited benefit they can obtain with
this procedure. Dr. Steinberg performs this procedure on men and women,
on any skin type, because there is no injury to the surface of the skin. Oral
sedation is recommended just prior to the procedure as some degree of discomfort
may occur. Most patients, however, tolerate it quite well. Since this
device does not use light, it is not necessary to wear goggles. Heat is delivered
into the deeper tissues allowing remodeling of collagen and tightening of the
skin. A special cryogen tip is used to cool the top for protection. Usually there
is immediate, but mild, redness and some swelling that lasts no more than 30 minutes
to a few hours, and there is no post-operative down time! Although the
results are not immediate, the majority of patients note improvement within three
to six months. More than 80 percent of patients treated so far respond to some
degree. Steinberg says that most patients are satisfied with on treatment, but
can elect to have a second, or even a third, if desired. Medication such
as aspirin and Coumadin do not have to be discontinued for this procedure. However,
patients with pacemakers or defibrillators are not candidates for this treatment.
The Advanced Cosmetic Laser Center under the direction of Dr. Janee Steinberg
offers the full complement of laser, cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures.
In many cases, Thermage tissue tightening can be combined with eyelid lifts, liposuction,
breast augmentation or simple procedures like Permanent Make-Up and Botox.
Since we have AAAHC accredited operating rooms and work only with board certified
dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and anesthesiologists, we can provide these
services in a safe and efficient environment. A free consultation is
offered to determine whether a patient is a good candidate for this procedure
as well as other procedures that are offered at the facility. Please feel free

Aging is a natural process, but reversal can be just as natural with Restylane,
a clear, biodegradable gel partially comprised of the body's own natural substance
of hyaluronic acid. The gel, which has been used in 60 countries around the world,
but only recently approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, adds extra
volume that patients seek to lift and smooth out wrinkles, gain fuller lips and
provide softer, rounded facial contours.

Injected in very small
amounts into the skin tissue, Restylane provides immediate and long-lasting enhancements
and its safe and gentle to the skin. The basis for FDA approval was founded
in a series of successful clinical trials, over time, that clearly showed the
product to be favorable. Nearly 140 patients were treated with it as well as a
collagen-based product. Nearly 60 percent of those treated with Restylane experienced
more beneficial results. "The
statistics speak for themselves," remarked Dr. Janee D. Steinberg, medical director
of the Advanced Cosmetic Laser Center in Tamarac. "It is also noteworthy that
in a Canadian study, a combination of Restylane and Botox provided even greater
benefits and more significant enhancements." Younger skin is smooth and
more elastic due to larger amounts of hyaluronic acid. As we grow older and begin
to lose this natural body product, the skin has a tendency to become drier, thinner
and less capable of restoring itself. "This virtually painless procedure really
turns back the appearance clock, because the lost hyaluronic acid is being restored
enabling patients to have a smoother looking, well-defined facial tone that is
more youthful and much healthier," commented Dr. Steinberg. Treatment
with Restylane is very quick and easy and is usually completed within 30 minutes,
depending upon the specific needs of the patient. According to Dr. Steinberg,
a slight redness, minor swelling or tenderness is to be expected, but any discomfort
is very temporary. "Restylane appears to last longer than collagen, it has no
known allergens and looks and feels natural," noted Dr. Steinberg. The
total effect of Restylane depends upon skin structure, lifestyle and age. Most
who use the treatment to smooth out and diminish wrinkles have a maintenance follow-up
within a year, while patients who use the procedure to enhance lips usually have
another treatment within six months.
Depending upon your
needs, there are three solutions of choice and Dr. Steinberg will evaluate the
best formula for you. For more information, call 954-720-6333, or visit online

Dynamic wrinkles are caused by contractions of the delicate underlying facial
muscles every time you smile, laugh or frown. The more emotion you show, the deeper
these wrinkles and lines are likely to be. While you may have earned every one
of your worry lines, you don't have to show them anymore. Now, after
extensive testing Botox is approved by the FDA as a safe and effective treatment
for wrinkles and frown lines. The procedure known as cosmetic denervation uses
Botox injections to improve the appearance of worry lines, frown lines, laugh
lines, crow's feet and other dynamic wrinkles.
How Does Botox Work? Botox blocks impulses from the nerve to
the tiny facial muscles that are related to expression lines. Botox relaxes the
muscles so they do not contract. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth
and unwrinkled, while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion,
allowing normal facial express to be unaffected. Are
Botox Treatments Safe? Botox injects have been used safely and effectively
for over ten years to treat many ophthalmological and neurological disorders.
Each year thousands of patients receive Botox treatments for a variety of conditions
and it is quickly becoming a popular treatment for reversing the visible signs
of aging. What
is the Treatment Like? Cosmetic denervation with Botox is a simple
and safe procedure. Using a tiny micro-needle, a very small amount of Botox is
injected, very precisely, into several locations on the face. Because the needle
is so fine and only a small amount of liquid is used, the pain associated with
the injections is minimal. Most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite.
No sedation or local anesthetic is required, and you can resume normal activities
immediately. You can even drive yourself home or back to the office. Some patients
experience a slight temporary bruising at the injection site. This can be covered
with make-up.
