Tips
- Holiday Greens and Wreaths
 Since
early pagan times, there has traditionally been a mid-winter
festival. A time when boughs of evergreen, holly and ivy,
conifer and mistletoe were brought into the home.
Keep the tradition alive. We make it easy at Field of Flowers
with the largest assortment of fresh flowers and greens

that fresh wreath? Below are simple instructions that will
have your wreath decorated in no time.

Purchase
the base. Field of Flowers features different sized
green wreaths that you can use as a base. Select the
size according to the place where it will be hung. |

Decide
on a color palette. Decide if you want a multi-colored
wreath or perhaps a monochromatic design using the same
color palette such as all white flowers. |

Add
the first layer. Once you've decided on a color
palette, start selecting your first layer of flowers.
Look for specimens that will dry beautifully like roses,
hydrangeas or baby's breath since your wreath will remain
without water for weeks. Wire each stem to support the
flowerhead firmly, gently placing the wired stem through
the greens and fastening to the base of the wreath.
Or you may select a small group of flowers and wire
them together. |

Continue
filling. Add the second layer as you did the first,
filling in the open spaces evenly around the wreath. |

Finish.
Gently stand the wreath up and make sure that all
the stems are neatly and securely fastened to the base.
You may decide to add long lasting conifer, pine cones,
holly, barley, box foliage or Worcester apples. Keep
in mind that this is your wreath. So if you want to
add blue balls with little gift-wrapped blue boxes,
or perhaps a few of your favorite tree ornaments, go
ahead! A big bow adds a nice finishing touch. |
