LOCAL
BUSINESSES DISCOVER EQUILIBRIX
New Permission-Based E-Mail Service
Expands Sales With Current And Prospective Customers
-- Wirelessly
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - Forget about direct mail
pieces, phone solicitation, or newspaper ads. Local
businesses have discovered an effective new way to
develop customer loyalty. It's called Equilibrix (www.equilibrix.com).
Equilibrix is a permission-based e-mail marketing
system that delivers great money saving offers to
customers who ask to be notified. The result? To date,
50% to 80% of recipients open and view their Equilibrix
e-mails, and participating businesses are receiving
incremental sales from the online promotions.
Contour Day Spa owner, Fanit Panofsky has used Equilibrix's
Custom and Community Flyers for almost six months.
"Equilibrix enables me to reach visitors and communicate
special offers to those who have enjoyed my spa in
the past and encourages them to return," she said.
"It's a win-win for everyone. My customers love the
coupons and special promotions and I love the fact
that they keep coming back."
Equilibrix is the brainchild of Internet entrepreneur
Myriam Cohen, founder of SelectJOBS.com, an Internet-based
career job board geared to high tech professionals.
SelectJOBS grew to become the Internet's leading site
of its kind. The company was sold in 1999 to Careershop.com,
which was ultimately sold to Personnel Group of America,
a one billion dollar public company.
"We are helping business owners leverage their network
of clients and prospects by harnessing the power of
permission e-mail marketing," said Myriam Cohen, founder
and CEO of Equilibrix. Sending out frequent, creative
communications and special offers increases sales
and customer loyalty. And by participating in the
Equilibrix Community Flyers, businesses can share
their networks with other (complimentary) area business
to significantly increase their reach. It's really
a win-win solution for everyone, businesses and customers,
alike."
HOW IT WORKS
The concept is simple, and the technology is easy
to use. Businesses post a sign asking visitors if
they would be interested in receiving special offers.
Next, customers input their e-mail address into a
wireless data collector located near the checkout
counter. That information is instantly transmitted
to Equilibrix's secure, central hub. Cohen and her
staff then design full-color e-mail promotions and
announcements featuring the store's coupons and specials,
each containing a link to the client's Web site. Cohen
offers Web site development services as well.
Both Custom and Community Flyers are
e-mailed twice per month. Clients may choose to send
a full color and animated Custom Flyer to their existing
customers, or may team up with businesses in their
area and send a Community Flyer by aggregating the
lists of each business into one large list.
Community Flyers include personalized e-mail with
coupons and specials to that store's customers, as
well as to customers of neighboring stores who use
the service. It is a way to gain new customers who
already frequent businesses in the participant's area
and have personally signed up to receive the e-mail
promotions, making them more receptive to the advertising
than they would be to traditional direct mail pieces.
Periodically, participating Equilibrix businesses
can view detailed reports to determine the effectiveness
of each promotion. Furthermore, Equilibrix participants
retain all customer information. "We believe that
the information gathered through our system belongs
to our customers and is not for sale at any price,"
Cohen said.
